utkarsh (aka jugnu to family and friends) & molly (aka pony) met in their freshmen year of high school in plainsboro, nj. paired as dance partners in gym class, the fourteen-year-olds waltzed and box-stepped together as their palms sweat and their teenage angst bubbled in the background. they could not possibly have known then that they would be dancing together for the rest of their lives. but forever-after would have to wait.

a zealous junior golfer, molly moved back to her hometown state of california and started sophomore year on the monterey peninsula. meanwhile, utkarsh, unofficial mvp of his science bowl team and a budding tennis player, asked after molly but to no avail. the two didn't reconnect for another decade.

in early 2020, utkarsh was working on the citigroup trading desk, molly in her last year of law school at nyu. then the pandemic stopped the world in its tracks and they both moved home to be with their families.

utkarsh was skateboarding one day in july when he ran into his high school classmate christine, also one of molly's oldest friends from her girl scout days, out walking with friends. utkarsh asked after molly, and molly found this out secondhand from her girlfriends. the two got back in touch and the rest is history.

molly finished law school, utkarsh traded jobs, and the two moved back to the city together in june of 2021, making their home together first in tribeca, now in jersey city. along the way they added tikki, a blessing and a handful of a mini dachsund.
